Finished!

I finished my Olympic knitting project tonight. Yea! I will post pictures tomorrow, because I am too tired to mess with the camera tonight. More later.

Ack!

It has not been a good 24 hours knitting wise. I have had to rip and tink a whole bunch on my Olympic knitting. The front right band is NOT cooperating, but I will beat it into submission. I think I have the problem fixed now, but it has been frustrating. I was hoping to be done today or tomorrow, but I don't think that will happen now. Hopefully it will be done by closing ceremonies on Sunday.

Another Olympic update

Still working on sleeve number 2. I have about 4 inches to go, then I get knit around the neck. After that I get to sew, sew, sew. I hate sewing knitted pieces together. I much prefer knitting in the round with no seams. Ah well, I need to do this.

Olympic update 2

I finished the right sleeve/upper portion of my sweater and started on the left sleeve. It's going OK, but Silk Garden is still strange yarn. I keep having to pick out pieces of grass, twigs and stickers. Strange stuff.

Knitting Olympics

I started my Olympic project on Friday. I have the lower back done and have started on the lower front panels. Silk Garden is such a strange yarn. I'm still not sure that I like the yarn I'm using. It feels OK, but the colors are weird, and you never know how they are going to work out when you are knitting them. I will keep on, but it is strange. I will post some pictures later on.

Olympics

The Winter Olympics start on Friday. I love to watch figure skating. And in keeping with the Olympic spirit, I have entered the Knitting Olympics started by the Yarn Harlot. It should be fun. I am going to try to knit the Bettna sweater in the Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton Noro Revisited book. It's the one on the cover. I'm not using that colorway though. The Silk Garden I'm using is more gray, blue, violet and turquiose. I hope it turns out the way my mind is envisioning it. Wish me luck.

Things have been slow since Christmas. I am currently working on a pair of socks for Sarah. Lorna'a Lace Shepherd Sock yarn in the Jeans colorway. I am past the heel on the first sock.

I have also been experimenting with some sale yarn I got. I have been swatching to see how it knits up. I am trying to decide what to do with it. I may make a felted purse out of it, but I have not definitely made up my mind yet.

I finished knitting the baby surprise jacket, but I have not sewn it together yet. I need to work on that and decide whether or not to put an edging on it.

More Knitting

I finished the socks on January 1. Good start to the New Year. Now I am working on Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise Jacket. It certainly is going to be a surprise as it looks nothing like a jacket at this point.

Post Christmas

I got through Christmas OK. In terms of knitting, it was good. I got two new knitting books and a yarn winder.

I am currently working on the heel flap of sock number two. I really like this yarn for socks. It feels so good, and it works up well.

Socks!

I started a pair of socks. The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the Black Watch color way. I have one sock done and am about 3 inches into the second one. And....the first one actually fits.

Sunday

I am on the fourth side of the afghan. Just a few more rows to go, then sew the corners and weave in the ends. I will be glad to get it finished, because I don't want to start another project until this one is done.

Gray day

I have not posted in a while as I had nothing to post about, and I was busy. It is a gray and cold day here. Very dreary.

I am adding a border to the afghan. I have one side done and another almost finished. Progress is being made.

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Yea! I finished the last block of the afghan. Now I have to weave in all the ends and decide if it needs a border or not. I'm thinking it may need a border. It might look a little more finished. What color?

After Thanksgiving

I am still working on the last block of the afghan. Needless to say, I have been busy doing other things like cooking turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, etc, etc, etc.

More Afghan

I didn't get to knit much yesterday. I did a few rows on the afghan, but I am still on block 54. Oh well.
