So...here is a picture of the dining room with one coat of paint. It's really, really red. I am reserving judgement until the painting is finished. I think the red will be a little deeper than this when it is done. I do like the contrast between the red and white. I think I just need to get used to it. Also, when the floor is done and the furniture is in, I think the red will be toned down.

What do you think?

I love it! But I do think it will be much deeper with the second coat. If this is the formal dining room, I think it's perfect!
Thanks, Janet.
Hey Sallie, I have a dark red dining room with white trim too! With the dark walnut 1820s furniture, it looks so elegant. I have antique gold picture frames (of oils of sheep - what else?) and it all looks quite quite nice. You'll love it and if you don't, just change the color - paint is cheap!
Thanks, Deb. I have dark wood furniture, too, and paintings with gold frames, so I guess I'm good to go.
I love it! And I agree, the second coat will make it deeper. You can see around the trim that it looks a little darker in the photo.
With the wood furniture and paintings, it is going to look so fabulous!
Missed you on Friday!
I love the red!
Red! I love it! I am missing colour from my own home at the moment. I shall live vicariously through your house!
