After all the uproar about the columns (see restored post on January 8), this is what we have. Nice round columns that look really good.
Here is a closer shot. The columns will get painted along with everything else later on, but I am really happy with the way they look.

I think I would have wanted square columns too, but I like these. Maybe a little more Southern than Craftsman, I think they'll be fine. Also love the sweater, will show it to Mom, she will be crazy about the color. Jan

As much as I love the Craftsman style, and I can understand why you wanted square columns, I think the round ones look very nice. With the square base, especially in the distant shot, I think they still have a very Craftsmand feel.
It looks *SO* gorgeous! Do you have an ETA on when it will be done? It is going to be so awesome! That porch is making me swoon a little bit!
Christine, the ETA on the finish is early April. Wally wanted lots of porches, so there are porches front and back.
